Can the “Motown Phenom” win the biggest fight of his career yet?

Before the UFC Summer Kickoff Press Conference, Michael Chiesa vs Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night in Oklahoma flew under the radar.  With a few minutes of trash talking and a brief altercation, Chiesa vs Lee has gained attention. This will be both Chiesa and Lee first time headlining a UFC Fight Card and a win can elevate their career. Can Chiesa continue his winning streak or can Lee take another step to being a star in the Lightweight Division?

Michael “Maverick” Chiesa at age 29 has slowly started to climb up the UFC Lightweight Division, having a record of 14-2 in the UFC and is a winner of the Ultimate Fighter.  Chiesa is currently ranked #7 in the Division and is on a three fight win streak.  In Chiesa last two fights, Chiesa won in impressive fashion submitting Jim Miller and Beneil Dariush by Rear Naked Choke. However, Chiesa biggest moment yet will be fighting in the Main Event for the first time against Kevin Lee.

“The Motown Phenom” Kevin Lee has the look and attitude of becoming a star in the UFC. At age 24, Lee is on the come up and is ranked #12 in the Lightweight Division. Having a wrestling background and proving to be a threat on the ground, Lee has the potential to be a threat in the Lightweight Division. Lee is currently on an impressive win streak of his own, winning four fights in a row and the last two winning by Rear Naked Choke.  This weekend will be Lee’s biggest challenge against his toughest opponent yet, in Lee first time headlining a UFC card.

Once a fight that nobody paid much attention to when announced, Chiesa vs Lee has becoming an interesting fight and has an impact on the Lightweight Division. With the attention all on both Lee and Chiesa, one walk away with everyone talking about them and moving closer to being a well recognized name. Both fighters are going into the biggest fight of their respective careers, with a win propelling them closer to a title fight. The trash talking almost over and the weekend approaching, who will emerge on top and take the next step closer to the UFC Lightweight Championship.
